Although the primary purpose of the books in the Truth Be Told series is to entertain, through suspenseful action with an occasional dash of humor, the issues at the root of the stories are absolute fact, not fiction. Actions have consequences. It is not difficult to look back into fairly recent history to see that many of the biggest problems facing the world today are a direct result of actions taken by those in power to further their own interests. The social and political issues addressed in this series are not only complex and controversial, they are big. Each issue is long-standing and, sadly, not likely to be resolved anytime soon. They affect millions, if not billions, of people around the globe and resolution can only be achieved when the real, hard truths involved are acknowledged and addressed by all parties concerned. The common denominator in these stories is that age-old sin: Greed.
GRAINS OF TRUTH

The Middle East conflict has been on-going and evolving for more than a century. The carving up of the Ottoman Empire following World War I, the creation of “puppet governments” so that Western powers could ostensibly control oil-rich states, and the establishment of the State of Israel after World War II created a situation “destined to incite rage, resistance and rebellion.” The world today is paying the price for these imperialistic acts by Western powers; acts committed primarily, if not solely, in pursuit of profit in the form of Big Oil. Many historians and world leaders acknowledge that the global Muslim Jihad that manifests itself daily with bombings, assassinations and other acts of terror are a direct result of actions taken by foreign powers in predominantly Islamic lands.
SHAMEFUL TRUTH

The current escalating problem of Illegal Immigration, both in the United States as well as in Europe, has been an on-again, off-again issue for decades, if not centuries. When governments of “developed” countries are in need of cheap labor—to work their fields, build their monuments and railroads—they make it easy for the down trodden and poor of “undeveloped” countries to find their way, legally or illegally, across their borders. When the presence of these immigrants becomes “problematic” or “inconvenient” they are demonized, pictured as criminals and wrenched from whatever security they have managed to establish for themselves and their families. They are arrested and sent back to their homelands, where jobs are scarce if not nonexistent, many to face harsh treatment, some certain death.
SECRETS, LIES AND TRUTH

Big Pharma concentrates research and resources on developing drugs that deal with “symptoms” rather than “cures” for one simple reason: That’s where the money is. The Washington lobby for the pharmaceutical drug industry is one of the most powerful organizations in the world. These companies own health care in America. Addiction to pain killers, opioids, kills more people in America every year than all other illegal drugs combined. Fact: In the 1990’s “Pharmaceutical companies saw an opportunity, and pushed doctors – with misleading marketing about the safety and efficacy of the drugs – to prescribe opioids to treat all sorts of pain.” As serious as it is, the crisis of the American Opioid Epidemic is just the tip of the iceberg. Well-documented felonious and horrendous crimes have been committed by Big Pharma in numerous countries over many years, all in the pursuit of profit.
